What Exercise Regime Works Best For You?
I enjoy weight training but after each IV iron &/blood transfusion I only get a window of about 12 weeks before my HB, iron and ferritin drop too low do even walking up and down stairs let alone lifting. Looking for something to bridge the gap so I don't fall back to square one again every time.
Lou, this type of exercise may not appeal to one who lifts weights but Tai Chi works well for me as well as Yoga (including Chair Yoga) when my strength feels drained. The slow measured movements actually do work your muscles and the deep breathing is so good for getting oxygen to your brain, lungs etc. Works for me! Good luck!
Thanks so much Lynda! I didn't think of Tai Chi! I can't do yoga bc of hypermobility / EDS but I think Tai Chi might be fine, thankyou! I love chair workouts, the chair weights ones a a real blessing when things start going downhill - hopefully by adding Tai Chi as well that will bridge me across the last little energy gap!
