From the answers here, I think I’m going to see a lot of pre-existing conditions of another disease prior to the AIHA.
We all know that pre-existing conditions weakens the natural immune system and it opens up the patient to a plethora of other problems.

Probably a virus picked up in the Caribbean on a cruise

I had Aplastic anemia over 20 years ago. But before this diagnosis, I had covid and later, the only time I have ever had pneumonia. Then we had huge stressor and stayed in a tiny home at high elevation all winter with piles of snow. Brrrr!!!! So we just don't know.
