Dr. Irina Murakhovskaya is an associate director of the hematology division at Montefiore Medical Center and associate professor of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Montefiore Medical Center. Her current research interests include autoimmune hematologic disorders and hematologic conditions in pregnancy. She serves as a principal investigator on a number of clinical trials on autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and she is a co-founder of the patient organization wAIHA Warriors. She is a co-director of the Women’s Blood Disorders Clinic in Montefiore Medical Center, co-chair of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) Scientific Workshop on Hematology and Pregnancy, and serves on the ASH preventive task force to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.
